Climate Impact Engineering
The Study of Earth's Changing Climate
The objective of the Climate Impact Engineering concentration in the AOSS ESSE undergraduate program is to provide students with an understanding of the relationship between Earth’s changing climate and characteristics of the Earth system that are affected by it. To do this, students receive training in the fundamentals of Earth system science, through the AOSS undergraduate core courses, and they examine the impact of environmental factors on the Earth system through a set of approved concentration courses. Concentration courses are taken in designated pairs in order to promote a depth of study into particular aspects of climate impact. At least one experiential course from an approved list is also required – to promote hands-on learning outside the traditional classroom environment.
