The Thomas M. Donahue Memorial Student Fund

 

"I want to know how the planets of the solar system were formed, how they came to evolve as they did and the significance of all that for the existence of life in the solar system and in the rest of the universe."

While Tom may now be silent, his unquenchable desire to learn and then to learn more will remain part of his legacy for generations to come. It is in this spirit that the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences is establishing the Thomas M. Donahue Memorial Student Fund. There will be no funeral service for Tom and the family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a lasting tribute would be a contribution that will further PhD students in their quest to learn more about the universe in which we live.
