AOSS 414 - Weather Systems

  • Description: Introduction to the basic characteristics, thermodynamics, and dynamics of atmospheric weather systems on Earth and other planets. The students are exposed to observations of weather systems while reviewing non-dimensional analysis, dynamics and thermodynamics. Weather systems on earth are compared to that of other planets and analytical tools are used to gain insights into their basic Physics.
  • Prerequisite: AOSS 350, AOSS 401 or AOSS 551
